2. Data used by the application
Location and selected city
When you grant permission, Rainsoon uses the current location of your Mac to obtain rain forecasts for your area. You may also select a city manually. The coordinates required for the request are sent to Météo-France and/or Apple WeatherKit solely to provide these forecasts.
Rainsoon does not associate location with an account, create a location history, or use it for advertising, analytics, or tracking. The developer does not receive these coordinates on a developer-operated server.
Data stored on your Mac
The selected city, application preferences, and latest forecasts may be stored locally on your Mac so Rainsoon can operate. They are not sent to the developer. You may revoke location access in macOS System Settings and remove this information by deleting the application’s local data.
3. Weather services
Weather requests are handled by the following services, depending on availability:
- Météo-France, which receives the coordinates required for the forecast and technical information inherent in a network connection, such as the IP address.
- Apple WeatherKit. Apple states that location used for weather is not associated with an identity and is not tracked between requests.
These providers process data under their own privacy policies. Rainsoon does not send them a name, email address, or advertising identifier.
4. Website support form
If you use the contact form, the name, email address, subject, and message you enter are needed to receive and handle your request. Delivery is provided by Web3Forms, which acts as a technical service provider and may process data using infrastructure outside the European Economic Area.
Support correspondence received by the developer is retained only as long as necessary to handle and follow up on the request, for no more than twelve months after the last exchange unless legally required otherwise. Web3Forms applies the retention periods described in its own policy.
The website uses no advertising or analytics cookies. It stores only your language choice in your browser’s local storage.
5. No advertising or tracking
Rainsoon includes no advertising network, analytics SDK, profiling tool, or mechanism for tracking users across applications or websites. Data is never sold or rented.
6. Your choices and rights
You may deny or withdraw location permission at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services. Rainsoon can also be used with a manually selected city.
For information sent to support, you may request access, correction, or deletion by writing to the contact address below. If you live in the European Union, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
7. Changes
This policy may be updated if Rainsoon’s features or service providers change. The date at the top of this page indicates the latest revision.
